 Located in Rockingham County, Derry is the fourth most-populous community in New Hampshire. Derry's quaint downtown area offers a variety of home-style and trendy restaurants, shops and services, while Route 28 is home to the larger chain restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues.

The town was first settled by Scots Irish immigrants in the early 18th century. The very first potatoe grown in the United States was planted here in 1719.  Well known residents have included Robert Frost, poet, Alan B. Shepard, astronaut, and Tricia Dunn-Luoma, 2006 Olympics bronze medalist. 

The Town of Derry is home to a vast array of medical services as well as Parkland Medical Center, which is the regional acute care hospital facility. Established in 1983, the hospital has become a leader in providing high quality healthcare services to its patients.  

The Town of Derry is also home to the highly acclaimed Pinkerton Academy, the largest independent academy in the United States serving as the high school for the communities of Derry, Hampstead and Chester.
